registry.net Joins Panel at the newdomian.org Conference in Munich

25 August, 2011— Munich, Germany

.registry.net COO, Peter Hupfauer has been invited to join respected Internet professionals to discuss the latest developments surrounding new TLDs at the upcoming during the newdomains.org conference in Munich, Germans on 26-27 September, 2011. registry.net will panel the discussion: "Registry: Outsourcing to an established registry provider" In addition to being a panel member, registry.net will be available on Stand #F3 to discuss the new domain TLD process with attendees.

“This is a very exciting development in the Internet because it will open new doors and opportunities for brands and companies taking advantage of the new TLD offerings, creating a whole new way of marketing,” said COO Peter Hupfauer.

Earlier this year ICANN released approval for companies and brands to propose and apply for gTLDs associated with particular interests or business sectors. While hundreds of new extensions will be created, most of them will likely fall under the categories of Brands, Company Names, Geographical or Regional Names and generic terms.

“Our goal is to make sure that companies applying for their TLDs have an expert on their side to successfully see their project through from application process to completion,” added Hupfauer. “With the application process opening in January, we have a lot of new domain extension education to do in a short time.”

With more than 100 new TLD applications submitted to ICANN, the next Internet revolution is set to begin.  In order for organisations to successfully gain a new gTLD, applicants will need to fulfill requirements of providing a secure and reliable technical infrastructure, as well as demonstrate a long-term ability to enforce policy for and administer the domain. Customers wishing to learn more about how to apply for their unique TLD can do so by contacting registry.net
